Over the weekend, I watched the Bollywood film “Fighter” on Netflix, starring Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone, and Anil Kapoor. The movie draws heavy inspiration from Tom Cruise’s “Top Gun” and succeeds in certain aspects. While the performances of the lead actors are commendable and become more engaging towards the end, the first half is merely passable. I found myself bored during the middle portion and checked the duration multiple times. Technically, the film is well-executed, featuring high-quality CGI that gives it a Hollywood-like feel. However, I couldn’t help but wish that instead of relying on a formulaic storyline and impressive visuals, more effort had been invested in enhancing the content. Overall, it’s a decent movie to pass the time on a weekend.
