India got lucky against Pakistan today. Our batting was subpar, and except for Rohit Sharma, no one seemed to be in control. Pant played well and is the highest scorer, but personally, I feel that he is very close to getting out with every ball he plays. Nonetheless, we struggled to put 119 on the board, and the bowlers were able to defend. Thanks to Bumrah and Pandya; they played smart cricket, especially the latter with his bouncers. Of course, Pakistan’s batsmen gave away the game more than India won it.
Finally, I strongly feel Dubey should be replaced by Samson in future games. Dubey is good at playing against mediocre bowling on batting-friendly pitches. I doubt if he can handle high-quality bowling, which was clearly evident in this game. With Pandya not in form, India really needs a proper batsman in Samson. Also, I don’t see Rohit using Dubey to bowl, so just having him purely as a batsman doesn’t seem to be the right choice.
